Francois Houle and Jesse Zubot have been performing together on the West coast for several years. Strong from their recpective projects (Au Coeur Du Litige, F. Houle 5, Zubot and Dawson), the two have joined forces with Toronto percussionist extraordinaire Jean Martin (Barnyard Drama, Bitches Brew, Blah Blah 666), to record highly engaging and intricate works that incorporate electronica, experimental electroacoustics, classical chamber music, improvisation and folk music. Listen to latest release.
The result is a fascinating web of intriguing, relentless textural soundscapes that stay clear of the usual pitfalls of musique Actuelle. They have collaborated on various projects under producer/guru Lee Townsend, and have performed with jazz/improv greats such as Dave Douglass, Marilyn Crispell, Joelle Leandre, Joe Fonda, Don Byron along with singer Kelly Joe Phelps.
